INTRO #4 – Key Terms & Concepts - Bridges To Common Ground

Key Terms

  • Spiritual Awakening - A non-religiously exclusive, spiritual movement based upon discovery of new spiritual common ground, particularly around the person & teachings of Jesus the Messiah.   
  • "Trac5" or 5th Track - A spiritual and relational approach to conflict resolution & crises management. 
  • Semitic Languages - Hebrew (Old Testament), Aramaic (New Testament) & Arabic (Qur'an) 
  • "Isa" or Isa Al-Masih - "Jesus the Messiah" In Arabic
  • YHWH or "Yahweh" - The proper name used when referring to the one God of Abraham. 
  • "Allah" or Al-ilah - The divine or "God" in Arabic meaning "the divine" or "the God."
  • "ADM" or A Deadly Misunderstanding - A book that discovers ways to bridge provocative topic's that have divided Muslims, Christians & Jews for centuries. 
  • Shalom, Salaam & Shalem - Refers to peace but can also mean "to submit", "to surrender", "turn back to", or "to complete." 
  • Abrahamic Faiths - Judaism, Christianity & Islam or other religious groups that follow and worship the God of Abraham. 
  • Aramaic Language - The native and spoken language of Jesus. & his followers.
  • Linguistics - The study or science of languages and their meaning(s).
  • The Injil - Gospel or "Good News" in Arabic...also refers to the New Testament.
  • Strongs - an index of every word used in the Bible which offers an opportunity for greater, and more technically accurate understanding of scripture.
  • Lexicon - An inventory of words for a specific language.
  • Messianic Movement - Followers of Jesus the Messiah who retain their birth culture & religious traditions...For example: Messianic Jews or even Messianic Muslims...They do not "convert" to a religion such as Christianity; but rather they discover & trust Jesus as Messiah.
